Tiny Talkers Toddler Time

Our Program

Our Tiny Talkers Toddler Time is open to all children ages 1-3 and is designed to help foster speech, language, and social skills in a supportive and engaging environment. This group is ideal for children who are ready to take their communication skills to the next level, whether they are just starting to speak or are already using a few words. Led by a licensed speech-language pathologist, the program is tailored to meet the unique needs of each child. The main goals of the group are:

  • Increasing speech output by providing opportunities for children to express themselves through fun, interactive activities
  • Expanding vocabulary and enhancing language comprehension in a relaxed, play-based setting
  • Building social and pragmatic skills through structured and unstructured peer interactions that help children learn to communicate more effectively with others

Sessions are designed to be inclusive and adaptable, making it easy for children of all backgrounds and skill levels to participate. Children will be grouped into small age-based sessions (2-4 children per group), allowing for personalized attention and age-appropriate activities that meet their developmental needs. Each session is 45-60 minutes long, with a balance of structured activities, free play, and social opportunities that encourage natural communication in a safe, friendly environment.Whether your child is just beginning to speak or is looking to improve their social exchanges with peers, this group is an excellent opportunity for them to grow in both their language and social skills. We welcome all children to join and enjoy the fun of learning and connecting with others!

Who can benefit from this program?

1. Children Who Are Not Yet Diagnosed with a Speech-Language Disorder

  • If your child is not diagnosed with a specific speech or language disorder but could still benefit from extra language support, this group is ideal. It helps children gain confidence in their speech and communication abilities, even if they’re just starting to express themselves.

2. Children Who Need a Boost in Speech Output

  • For children who are beginning to speak but need extra opportunities to increase their verbal expression, this group offers an interactive setting that encourages more speaking, whether through words, sounds, or gestures.

3. Children Who Are Expanding Their Vocabulary

  • If your child is already speaking, but you’d like to help them increase their vocabulary and start combining words, this group will provide fun, structured activities that encourage new words and language combinations.

4. Children Who Struggle with Social Interactions or Pragmatic Skills

  • Children who may struggle with social skills, such as taking turns, sharing, or understanding social cues, can benefit from the group. The small group setting provides plenty of opportunities to practice social exchanges with peers in a supportive environment.

5. Children Who Are Learning to Play with Others

  • Play is a vital aspect of early communication and social development. If your toddler is still learning how to engage with others, play with peers, or follow simple play routines (like stacking blocks together or playing pretend), this group provides guided practice in a natural, social setting.

6. Children Who Need Help with Sharing and Turn-Taking

  • Sharing toys, taking turns, and waiting for a chance to speak are essential social skills. If your child needs to practice these skills in a group setting, the structured activities and peer interaction in this group will be a perfect fit.

7. Parents Looking for Extra Support in Language and Social Development

  • If you're unsure how to support your child’s language development at home, or if you want to ensure they are getting a solid foundation for both speech and social skills, this group provides professional guidance and expertise to support your child’s progress.

8. Children Who Are a Bit Shy or Hesitant to Speak

  • For children who may be more reserved or hesitant to speak in social situations, our small group setting offers a gentle, welcoming space to build confidence and develop communication skills at their own pace.
